Fanatics Core is the shared capabilities organization for the Fanatics ecosystem, building the identity, loyalty, payments, wallet, data, platform, and fan‑experience solutions that power sports betting, e‑commerce, collectibles, and beyond. Its mission is to create reusable, reliable foundations so every Fanatics business can move faster without starting from scratch.
OverviewAs an Engineering Manager at Fanatics, you will be a technical leader who grows and scales engineering teams to deliver high‑quality software and business results. You’ll lead the Homepage and Early Life team, delivering a best‑in‑class experience for new and existing users in the Fanatics App, which is the front door to other apps and products. Your focus will be turning first‑time users into engaged fans through relevant, timely, and personalized touchpoints and owning app personalization for existing users.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and technical expertise within your engineering vertical
- Build and lead one or more teams delivering software while adhering to engineering best practices
- Clarify technical requirements, negotiate priorities, and manage projects to deliver on time via daily scrum activities
- Clear or escalate blockers to accelerate delivery progress
- Work closely with Product and Design partners to create an ambitious, achievable roadmap communicable to executives and stakeholders
- Drive reliable and predictable team execution by setting clear objectives and using data and KPIs to champion continuous improvement
- Provide clear updates (KPIs, status, metrics) to executive audience and key stakeholders
- Help recruit, assess, and onboard a diverse group of talented engineers
- Open to occasional travel to Fanatics offices and other locations
- 1+ years of experience managing an engineering team
- 4+ years of experience building highly scalable and fault‑tolerant systems
- Knowledge of a broad range of design approaches; ability to deconstruct architecture across teams
- Able to scope projects with targeted dates to meet business needs
- Skilled at discerning essential features vs. those that can be triaged or omitted
- Effective communicator of complex technical subjects to varied audiences
- Familiar with Agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodology
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Thrives in an entrepreneurial, hyper‑growth environment where priorities evolve regularly
- Team‑first mentality with a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
- Experience working in a start‑up environment
- Experience with personalization and recommendation‑focused products
- Comfortable working with Apps Flyer and similar technologies for top‑of‑funnel user acquisition metrics
