Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Accessibility Resource with strong project management capabilities to lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of our organization's accessibility framework for websites and applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working within large organizations, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards, and driving initiatives that promote inclusive digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive accessibility framework aligned with industry standards (e.g., WCAG, ADA, Section 508).
- Lead cross-functional teams to integrate accessibility best practices into website and application development processes.
- Manage accessibility projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring timely and within-budget execution.
- Conduct accessibility audits, assessments, and gap analyses to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with design, development, and content teams to ensure accessibility compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to teams on accessibility standards and best practices.
- Monitor and report on accessibility compliance metrics and progress.
- Stay current with evolving accessibility regulations, standards, and emerging technologies.
- Engage with external vendors or consultants as needed to support accessibility initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1+, ADA, Section 508, and other relevant accessibility laws and frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead and manage accessibility projects across cross-functional teams, ensuring delivery on time and within scope.
- Hands‑on experience with accessibility evaluation tools such as Axe, WAVE, and Lighthouse, and familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from an accessibility standpoint.
- Demonstrated experience conducting accessibility audits, gap assessments, and driving remediation strategies for websites and applications.
- Ability to train, guide, and collaborate with design, development, content, and QA teams to embed accessibility best practices throughout the digital product lifecycle.
