Job Description

Marubeni‑Itochu Steel America Inc. (MISA) is seeking an IT Operations Assistant Manager to support and help manage the company’s internal IT operations. This position supports daily IT operations, end‑user support, vendor coordination, business system support, security‑related activities, and internal IT projects. The role works closely with local employees, Japanese expatriates, management, and external vendors. The ideal candidate has solid hands‑on IT experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance technical support with coordination responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the company’s day-to-day IT operations, including user support for PCs, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, network access, printers, and other office IT needs.
  • Serve as a lead member of the IT support team by helping prioritize support requests, follow up on open issues, and support timely resolution for employees and management.
  • Provide hands‑on technical support for hardware, software, email, network, account access, printers, mobile devices, and business application issues.
  • Coordinate with external IT vendors, service providers, software vendors, equipment suppliers, and carriers regarding support requests, quotes, troubleshooting, and ongoing service matters.
  • Contribute to internal IT projects such as system upgrades, hardware replacement, security improvements, Microsoft 365‑related changes, office moves, and other technology initiatives.
  • Support business systems used in daily operations and troubleshoot user issues as needed.
  • Help manage user accounts, access permissions, endpoint security, backup coordination, and other basic IT security and compliance activities.
  • Assist in communicating IT issues, project updates, risks, and required actions to local users, Japanese‑speaking management, and vendors in a clear and timely manner.
  • Maintain IT‑related documentation, including asset records, support procedures, user guides, vendor information, system notes, and status reports.
  • Support IT asset management, software license tracking, hardware/software purchasing, and coordination of vendor quotes and renewals.
  • Support internal control, audit, and compliance‑related requests.
  • Look for practical ways to improve IT support processes, reduce repeated issues, and make the internal IT environment more stable and easier to support.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Effective collaboration and communication skills to work closely with development, operations, and business teams. Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical users. Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Strong knowledge of general corporate IT operations, including Windows PCs, Microsoft 365, email, basic networking, printers, mobile devices, and user account management. Ability to provide hands‑on support while also coordinating with users, vendors, and management.

Japanese bilingual skills are a plus but not required.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate IT support, IT operations, systems administration, infrastructure support, or a related IT role is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a senior IT support, team lead, supervisor, assistant manager, or similar role is preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with external IT vendors, MSPs, software vendors, hardware providers, or implementation partners is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory / Entra , Windows endpoint support, network troubleshooting, and cybersecurity tools is preferred.
  • Experience with IT documentation, asset management, procurement support, access control, and audit‑related support is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Required to sit for long periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Usual office working conditions.
  • Occasional travel for business needs.
Pay Range

$95,000 - $110,000

Compensation and Benefits
