Oracle Data Migration Lead
Job Location:

The Oracle Data Migration Lead is responsible for end-to-end data migration strategy, design, execution, validation, and cutover for Oracle implementations and transformations. The role ensures data accuracy, completeness, integrity, and reconciliation while managing stakeholders across business, functional, and technical teams.
This role typically supports Oracle Fusion Financials, SCM, HCM, and EPM implementations, especially in global, multiledger, multicurrency environments

- Data Migration Strategy & Governance
- Define and own the data migration strategy
, approach, and methodology for Oracle Cloud implementations. - Establish data scope, migration waves, sequencing, and cutover plans.
- Define data ownership
, RACI, and governance framework. - Align data migration approach with business process design and implementation timelines.
- Define and own the data migration strategy
- Data Assessment & Design
- Perform source system analysis (EBS, legacy ERPs, third party systems, spreadsheets).
- Lead data profiling, cleansing, enrichment, and gap analysis.
- Define data mapping documents (source Oracle target).
- Collaborate with Functional Leads (GL, AP, AR, FA, SCM, HCM) to ensure correct data design.
- Oracle Data Migration Execution
- Design and execute migration using:
- FBDI / ADFDI.
- REST APIs.
- OTBI / BI Publisher extracts.
- SQL / PLSQL scripts.
- Manage migration for:
- Chart of Accounts.
- Suppliers / Customers.
- Opening Balances.
- Assets (A2R).
- Inventory.
- Employees.
- Historical and transactional data (as required).
- Design and execute migration using:
- Test Cycles & Validation
- Own execution for:
- Mock / SIT migration.
- UAT migration.
- Pre Production migration.
- GoLive migration.
- Validate:
- Record counts.
- Financial balances.
- Asset values.
- Subledger GL reconciliation.
- Ensure successful resolution of data defects and reconciliation issues.
- Own execution for:
- Cutover & GoLive Support
- Lead final cutover planning and execution.
- Coordinate with:
- Implementation team.
- Technical team.
- Business users.
- Client PMO.
- Ensure zero-defect critical data load.
- Provide hypercare support post go-live.
- Stakeholder & Team Management
- Act as the single point of contact for data migration.
- Manage onshore/offshore data teams.
- Communicate risks, issues, and status to leadership.
- Work closely with:
- Program Managers.
- Functional Leads.
- Technical Architects.
- Client SMEs.
- Risk & Quality Management
- Identify data risks early and define mitigation strategies.
- Establish audit trails and version control.
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain migration documentation and signoffs.
- Functional & Oracle Expertise
- 8-15 years of experience in Oracle ERP implementations.
- Strong experience in Oracle Fusion Cloud data migration.
- Good understanding of:
- GL, AP, AR, FA, SCM, HCM modules.
- Chart of Accounts and ledgers.
- Multicurrency and global rollouts.
- Technical
Skills:- FBDI / ADFDI framework expertise.
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
- Knowledge of REST APIs (preferred).
- Experience with ETL tools (preferred).
- Excel power user (large datasets).
- Project & Leadership Skills
- Experience in global implementation programs.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication.
- Ability to manage tight timelines and multiple migration cycles.
- Experience working with SIs, vendors, and offshore teams.
- Oracle Fusion Cloud certifications.
- Experience migrating from Oracle EBS Fusion.
- Financial Services / Manufacturing / Retail domain experience.
- Prior experience as Data Migration Lead or Data Architect.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong quality focus.
- Leadership and decision-making capability.
