Network Engineer, Network Administrator, Systems Administrator, IT Support
Location: New York
RIS I is the delivery of regional IT services to the end user. We offer support of end user devices including desktop, workplace peripherals, and voice and video devices. We support local and campus area networks, including wireless and cable plant.
Job ResponsibilitiesThis position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.
Standard Operating Procedures- Consistently follow established procedures for the Connectivity Operations Team, utilizing ticketing systems for issue tracking and detailed documentation for all network activities.
- Provide hands‑on support for network upgrade projects and initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation and minimal disruption to operations.
- Respond promptly to hardware failures by replacing networking components such as switches, routers, and access points as needed.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving end‑user connectivity issues, delivering responsive and professional service.
- Participate in the installation, maintenance, operation, and security of LAN infrastructure and network devices to support organizational needs.
- Manage access to network segments and resources in accordance with established network access policies and security protocols.
- Regularly update and refresh network hardware, operating systems, and software to ensure optimal functionality, performance, and security.
- Strictly adhere to change and configuration management processes to maintain network integrity and compliance.

Required Qualifications Experience- Two (2) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required.
- Associate’s degree in engineering technology from an accredited college is required.
- Two (2) additional years of network engineering experience may be substituted for the Associate’s degree.
- MUST be 8570 / CWIP compliant with either A+, Network+ (Net+), or Security+ certification.
- Experience with installation and configuration of network devices, such as firewalls, switches, routers, and cabling.
- Familiarity with Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper devices is a plus.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
- Experience with network operating systems, hardware troubleshooting, and ticketing systems.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- The role requires significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling.
- Some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling is required, as well as periodic work in tight areas.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to follow established procedures.
- Flexibility to work shifts and respond to after‑hours incidents as needed.
- In order to be considered for this position, you must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record and be eligible to drive an AT&T company vehicle.
Our Network Engineer (NE
0) (Government) earns between $52,200 - $85,600 yearly. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
