Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Dev Sec Ops Engineer to support a federal modernization effort focused on transforming legacy systems into secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native architectures. This role is integral to advancing enterprise Dev Sec Ops maturity and enhancing cloud-based infrastructure reliability across hybrid environments using AWS (no Azure experience will be considered).
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in infrastructure-as-code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and AWS service architecture. They will serve as a hands-on contributor and a technical leader, collaborating with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to streamline secure software delivery and drive infrastructure automation at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, configure, and maintain Dev Sec Ops pipelines in AWS environments using Terraform and Cloud Formation.
- Lead efforts to automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments across Dev, Test, and Prod environments.
- Develop secure and resilient solutions using AWS services such as EKS, S3, Route
53, and more. - Define, implement, and maintain CI/CD strategies using tools like Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or CircleCI.
- Build and manage Blue/Green deployment zones for production environments.
- Architect landing zones and manage AWS cloud resources in a multi-account structure.
- Apply Dev Sec Ops best practices to ensure security, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams to drive agile practices and continuous integration.
- Provide leadership in Dev Sec Ops tooling, strategies, and technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering within large-scale enterprise environments (Fortune 100 preferred).
- 3–5 years in a senior Dev Sec Ops role with proven expertise in cloud-native deployments.
- Extensive experience with AWS services, infrastructure setup, and cloud automation.
- Hands-on skills with Terraform, Cloud Formation, Kubernetes, EKS, S3, and DNS.
- Experience designing and implementing microservices, serverless, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong background in Agile development methodologies.
- CI/CD expertise with Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or CircleCI.
- Experience with Java and mainframe migration efforts (z/OS exposure preferred).
- Familiarity with application analysis tools and modernization methodologies.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer – Professional
- AWS Solutions Architect Certification
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Experience with AWS network services
- Understanding of modern cloud-native application design and deployment
- Must possess an active IRS MBI clearance (submission must include proof via MBI letter).
- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- A laptop is preferred for remote support.
