Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New York

We are seeking an experienced OT Network Engineer to serve as the primary boots-on-the-ground technical resource for our Operations Technology (OT) Network team. Reporting directly to the OT Network Manager, this role is responsible for executing the day-to-day operational work that keeps our large-scale OT LAN/WAN running across more than 50 building locations and over 6,000 diverse endpoints.

Where the OT Network Manager sets direction and owns strategic decisions, the Engineer owns execution—handling field work, managing the rhythm of vendor relationships, keeping documentation current, driving projects forward, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. This is an active, hands-on role that requires someone equally comfortable overseeing cable pulls in a technology room, contributing on a vendor coordination call, and updating network documentation at their desk.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative, operates independently within defined priorities, and brings a level of field experience and technical depth that allows them to represent the Manager’s direction confidently when working with building staff, contractors, and third-party vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-Day Network Operations

  • Serve as the hands-on operator of the OT network—physically and remotely monitoring infrastructure health across all properties, including switches, routers, firewalls, and access points via the Meraki dashboard.
  • Respond to network outages and performance issues as the first responder on the ground; troubleshoot, coordinate vendor response, and escalate to the Manager with full situational detail.
  • Perform scheduled and as-needed maintenance on network appliances, including firmware updates, configuration changes, and patching—executing work directed by the Manager.
  • Inspect and document UPS health, runtime, and load capacity for critical network and OT devices at each property; flag issues and coordinate remediation.
  • Conduct periodic on-site and remote network audits to validate configurations, enforce naming conventions, and identify issues for the Manager’s review.
  • Function as the day-to-day point of contact for the approximately 50 vendors and contractors whose devices reside on the OT network, including BMS, security, lighting, elevator, and energy management vendors.
  • Manage vendor access to the OT network: track access rights, enforce access schedules, and ensure all on-site activity is consistent with established policies and the Manager’s direction.
  • Serve as the primary contact for ISPs on IoT network connections; monitor uptime and coordinate with contractors in the field to mitigate outages.
  • Manage low voltage cabling vendors on a per-building basis: maintain vendor lists, accompany or coordinate cabling work, review test results, and document all cable routes.
  • Build and sustain working relationships with all connected contractors; keep contact lists complete and up to date.
  • Gather vendor proposals for low voltage wiring, hardware, and services as directed; provide the Manager with organized summaries and recommendations.

Documentation & Standards

  • Maintain comprehensive and current OT network documentation- a “bible” of the OT network: topology diagrams, device inventories, IP addressing, VLAN assignments, connectivity details, and cabling records—as the team’s primary documentation owner.
  • Build and keep current a “Wired Score” document for each property, providing building operations and leasing teams with essential network and connectivity information.
  • Own the service ticket lifecycle: open, track, update, and close tickets with thorough documentation at every stage.
  • Ensure all field work, configuration changes, and vendor activity is captured in documentation promptly and accurately.

Device Onboarding & Access Management

  • Serve as the hands-on point of contact for integrating new devices and services onto the OT network, coordinating directly with vendors, building staff, and IT under the Manager’s guidance.
  • Process the “requested access” queue for the OT network; review device requests, conduct initial vetting, and escalate approvals or rejections to the Manager with supporting…
