Data Quality Analyst

Location:

New York, NY — Hybrid (3 days per week)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Quality Analyst to support enterprise-wide data governance and data quality initiatives. This role will be responsible for helping define, implement, and optimize data quality management processes, governance workflows, and data quality controls across modern data platforms. The ideal candidate combines strong data governance knowledge with hands‑on experience in data quality analysis, profiling, remediation, and stewardship. This individual will partner closely with business stakeholders, data product managers, data stewards, and engineering teams to improve data trust, discoverability, compliance, and overall data quality across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities Data Quality Management & Governance
  • Partner with the Data Quality Product Owner to refine and execute the enterprise data quality strategy.
  • Support the implementation and adoption of data quality platforms, standards, controls, and governance processes.
  • Assist in defining data quality rules, monitoring processes, remediation workflows, and quality metrics.
  • Document data quality standards, procedures, and governance requirements.
Data Analysis & Remediation
  • Perform data profiling, analysis, validation, cleansing, standardization, and root cause analysis activities.
  • Support identification, prioritization, and remediation of data quality issues across critical data assets.
  • Validate data lineage and collaborate with stakeholders to improve data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Assist with data quality reporting and monitoring activities.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Adoption
  • Collaborate with business data owners, stewards, product managers, SMEs, and data engineers to drive alignment on data quality objectives and governance outcomes.
  • Promote adoption of data quality tools and governance processes through training, workshops, roadshows, and user enablement sessions.
  • Serve as a liaison between business and technology teams to ensure successful implementation of data quality initiatives.
Agile Delivery & Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery activities.
  • Contribute to prioritization efforts and continuous improvement initiatives across the data quality program.
  • Gather stakeholder feedback and support enhancements to governance and data quality capabilities.
Required Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Experience
  • 7+ years of professional experience in data governance, data quality, data management, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise data governance and data quality initiatives.
  • Experience working within Agile environments and cross‑functional teams.
Technical Skills – Required
  • Hands‑on experience with Anomalo or similar data quality management platforms.
  • Familiarity with metadata management and governance tools such as Atlan, Unity Catalog, Collibra, or Alation.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to analyze data, validate lineage, and investigate data quality issues.
  • Experience with data profiling, data cleansing, standardization, remediation, and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, stewardship processes, metadata management, and data quality best practices.
  • Experience documenting governance standards, controls, and workflows.
Preferred Technical Skills
  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, or Big Query.
  • Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation.
  • Experience supporting data modernization, cloud migration, or enterprise data transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to AI‑enabled governance, metadata enrichment, or automated data quality solutions.
