Senior Azure Platform Engineer

This role blends Microsoft 365 engineering, identity management, endpoint management, and Azure platform architecture, requiring a strong enterprise-level Microsoft cloud skill set with exposure across both Modern Workplace and Azure infrastructure domains.

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) 2 days onsite

A large enterprise organization is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Platform Engineer to design, implement, and support Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud services. This role spans identity, endpoint management, and cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on security, compliance, and scalable enterprise architecture.

The ideal candidate will bring deep hands‑on expertise across Microsoft 365, Intune, and Entra , along with practical experience in Azure platform services, including cloud networking and landing zone architecture.

• Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Intune for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android
• Implement and manage MDM/MAM, App Protection Policies, device compliance, and configuration profiles
• Serve as subject matter expert for Entra  (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, PIM, and application registrations
• Support Exchange Online including mail flow, hybrid environments, and migration activities
• Implement and maintain Microsoft security and compliance controls using Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Purview (DLP, retention, sensitivity labels, eDiscovery)
• Design and support Azure landing zone architecture aligned to enterprise standards
• Support cloud firewall and network security architecture
• Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure secure and scalable cloud design

• Lead implementation of global Microsoft 365 and Azure initiatives
• Provide escalation support for complex incidents across M365, Intune, Entra , and Azure services
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks
• Monitor platform health, performance, and scalability; recommend improvements
• Mentor junior engineers and support teams
• Evaluate Microsoft roadmap changes and lead adoption where appropriate

• Over 10 years experience in Microsoft stack with recent expertise in Azure cloud technologies
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365 (Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, One Drive)
• Deep experience with Entra  (Azure AD), Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, and identity governance
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Purview security and compliance tools
• Experience with Power Shell scripting and Microsoft 365/Azure automation
• Experience working in regulated enterprise environments strongly preferred
• Understanding of Azure infrastructure concepts such as landing zones and cloud networking
