Position Title:
Senior People Soft HCM Functional & Technical Consultant
Location:
New York, NY (Hybrid – Approximately 1 day onsite per week, as needed)
Position Status:
Contract (6+ Months, with strong potential for extension)
Pay Rate: $92–$102/hour (W2), based on experience
Position
Description:
Seneca Resources is seeking an experienced Senior People Soft HCM Functional & Technical Consultant to support a complex enterprise Human Capital Management (HCM) environment. This role combines functional consulting, technical expertise, business analysis, and solution design to deliver system enhancements, optimize business processes, and support strategic HR technology initiatives.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise across multiple People Soft HCM 9.2 modules and enjoys partnering with HR leaders, business stakeholders, developers, and project teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business analysis, functional design, and requirements gathering for People Soft HCM enhancements and implementation initiatives.
- Partner with HR and business stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate them into scalable People Soft solutions.
- Analyze current business processes and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and system effectiveness.
- Configure, enhance, and support multiple People Soft HCM modules.
- Develop detailed functional specifications and collaborate with technical teams on solution design and implementation.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, requirements sessions, design reviews, and solution demonstrations.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including:
- Functional specifications
- Business requirements
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Process flows
- Design and develop People Soft Queries, reports, and data extracts to support business reporting needs.
- Write, troubleshoot, and optimize complex SQL queries (DML/DQL) for reporting, analysis, and data validation.
- Participate in unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production validation.
- Coordinate activities across cross-functional business and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support production issues, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills/
Education:
- 10+ years of functional experience supporting People Soft HCM 9.2 or newer
. - 10+ years of technical experience with People Soft HCM applications.
- Proven experience delivering full lifecycle People Soft HCM implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Extensive experience supporting and configuring multiple People Soft HCM modules, including:
- Human Resources
- Compensation
- Position Management
- Talent Acquisition/Candidate Gateway
- Benefits Administration
- Performance Management (ePerformance)
- Learning & Development
- Employee Self Service (ESS)
- Manager Self Service (MSS)
- Strong business analysis, requirements elicitation, and solution design experience.
- Advanced SQL expertise, including complex DML and DQL scripting.
- Experience developing advanced People Soft Queries and enterprise reporting solutions.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience creating technical documentation, SOPs, functional specifications, and process documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality work in a fast‑paced enterprise environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with People Soft Test Framework (PTF).
- Experience supporting large enterprise, public sector, or government organizations.
- Experience supporting state or local government HR systems.
- Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of relational databases and data architecture.
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional HR, IT, and project management teams.
