Role Overview
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the operational support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of Northwell Health’s enterprise network infrastructure. This is a senior‑level, hands‑on engineering role requiring strong technical troubleshooting skills, operational ownership, and the ability to independently manage complex network incidents in a large, highly available healthcare environment.
What You Will DoTroubleshoot complex production issues across multiple network domains and technologies, independently manage complex network incidents, and perform root‑cause analysis, execute production changes, and drive issues through resolution with minimal supervision.

Requirements- Bachelor’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- 3‑5 years of relevant experience, required
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and the OSI model
- Advanced experience supporting enterprise routing and switching environments
- Strong working knowledge of routing protocols, including BGP and EIGRP
- Experience troubleshooting VLANs, trunks, spanning tree, routing, ACLs, NAT, DNS, DHCP, MTU, latency, packet loss, and network performance issues
- Experience with enterprise WAN technologies and geographically distributed network environments
- Working knowledge of enterprise wireless networking and troubleshooting
- Experience with firewalls, remote‑access VPN technologies, and network‑security fundamentals
- Experience using packet captures, network monitoring tools, logs, CLI diagnostics, and performance data to isolate complex issues
- Knowledge of cloud networking, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including VPCs, routing, connectivity, and hybrid‑cloud architectures
