Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New York

Emerald is looking for a Manager, Event Technology Reporting & Insights to build and own the reporting and analytics layer across our event technology ecosystem. This is a foundational role: we run a large and growing portfolio of trade shows and B2B events across a vendor-based technology stack, and we need someone who can bring coherence to how we measure platform performance, adoption, and operational readiness and turn those measurements into insights that drive better decisions.

You will establish KPI frameworks, build repeatable dashboards and report templates, manage reporting intake from across the team, and work closely with Platform Leads to understand what data is available, what’s missing, and what it means. The insights you generate will inform platform strategy, vendor accountability conversations, show team support, and executive reporting.

This role reports to the Senior Director, Event Tech Architecture & Experience and partners closely with Platform Leads, the Manager of Event Tech Operations, Data Operations, and IT. You will also work directly with the VP, Event Tech Experience & Operations to ensure portfolio-level insights reach the right audiences.

Responsibilities

KPI Framework & Standards:

  • Define and standardize event technology KPIs across platforms and shows, in partnership with Platform Leads and the Senior Director.
  • Establish internal adoption metrics: show team setup completion, readiness compliance, platform usage, and launch timelines.
  • Establish external adoption metrics: exhibitor profile completion, mobile app activation, lead capture usage, attendee engagement, matchmaking participation, and sponsorship performance.
  • Ensure KPI definitions are consistent, documented, and understood across the team and by show team stakeholders.
  • Explore and apply AI-assisted approaches to anomaly detection, pattern recognition, and predictive reporting across event technology data.
  • Build and maintain repeatable dashboards and report templates for event technology performance across the portfolio.
  • Manage reporting request intake and prioritization from Operations Managers, Platform Leads, and the Senior Director.
  • Deliver portfolio-level insights and learnings to leadership on a regular cadence, surfacing trends, anomalies, and areas requiring attention.
  • Support show teams and Brand Success Managers with event-level reporting as needed during critical windows.
  • Leverage AI tools to improve reporting efficiency, automate recurring report generation, and surface insights.

Data Infrastructure & Platform Partnership:

  • Partner with Platform Leads to understand data availability, structure, and limitations across the event technology stack including registration, mobile apps, directories, lead capture, and session management.
  • Work with Data & Analytics and IT to ensure event technology data flows correctly into Databricks and Power BI; identify and escalate pipeline gaps.
  • Identify inconsistencies in data across platforms and shows; drive toward greater standardization where possible.
  • Support integration requirements scoping by documenting what data needs to move between platforms and what reporting depends on it.

Insights & Continuous Improvement:

  • Translate data into clear, actionable findings for platform strategy conversations, vendor performance reviews, and operational planning.
  • Identify gaps in reporting capabilities and surface them to the Senior Director with recommended solutions.
  • Share insights across show teams and leadership in formats that are accessible and useful to non-technical audiences.
  • Track how reporting needs evolve as the event technology ecosystem grows and adapt frameworks accordingly.
Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who is genuinely curious about data, can build structure where little exists, and knows how to make reporting feel useful rather than burdensome. Experience with event technology is helpful but not required. What matters more than event expertise is the ability to learn a complex ecosystem quickly, ask the right questions about what data means, and communicate findings clearly to varied audiences.

  • Experience in a reporting, analytics, or business intelligence role…
