Contract Length: 12 months with possible extension

Work Setup: Hybrid (3 Days Onsite, 2 Days Remote)
Work Schedule: 37.5 Hours per Week

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Enterprise Architect Application Modernization & Cloud to lead enterprise-scale cloud transformation initiatives and modernize critical business applications. This Senior Enterprise Architect role is ideal for an experienced technology leader passionate about cloud architecture, application modernization, and driving enterprise innovation across hybrid environments.
Senior Enterprise Architect Application Modernization & Cloud Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise application modernization initiatives, designing strategies to rehost, replatform, refactor, or retire legacy applications.
• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture standards, integration patterns, and reusable reference architectures.
• Design cloud-native and hybrid solutions across AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud environments, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, API Management (APIM), and Platform as a Service (PaaS).
• Partner directly with engineering teams during architecture, proof-of-concept development, and implementation phases.
• Build and enhance cloud landing zones, governance frameworks, and enterprise cloud adoption strategies.
• Perform application portfolio assessments using industry frameworks such as TIME and 6R, identifying opportunities for consolidation, migration, and optimization.
• Analyze and prioritize technical debt remediation aligned with business priorities and modernization roadmaps.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Bicep/ARM, or Pulumi.
• Support CI/CD pipeline architecture utilizing Git Hub Actions, Git Lab, or Jenkins, while collaborating with Dev Ops teams on automation initiatives.
• Ensure cloud solutions adhere to security and compliance standards including CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, IAM/RBAC, and cloud governance best practices.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Networking, Finance, Procurement, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable enterprise solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies including AI, observability platforms, Dev Sec Ops  tools, and cloud automation capabilities.

Senior Enterprise Architect Application Modernization & Cloud Qualifications
Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience serving as a Senior Enterprise Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Cloud Architect within large enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in application modernization, cloud-native architecture, and enterprise application portfolio management.
• Strong experience designing and implementing solutions across AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud platforms.
• Hands-on knowledge of microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, containerization, and cloud integration patterns.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops methodologies, and cloud governance.
• Strong understanding of application lifecycle management, technical debt remediation, and cloud migration strategies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and executive stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional/Expert
• TOGAF Certification
• ITIL Certification
• Experience with Service Now APM/CMDB, Azure Advisor, and Fin Ops practices.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, AI-enabled cloud services, and enterprise observability platforms.
