This role sits at the intersection of Total Rewards, People Analytics, and HR technology. You'll help build and maintain the operational foundations of Smartly's compensation programs while using data, systems, and insights to improve how we make people decisions.

Working closely with the Global Total Rewards Lead, you'll own key compensation operations, maintain our global job architecture and Workday compensation data, deliver workforce insights, and identify opportunities to improve the way the People team works through automation, AI, and scalable processes.

What You Will Do Compensation Operations & Systems
  • Support and administer Smartly’s global compensation programs, including market pricing, offers, promotions, internal moves, job evaluations, and annual compensation cycles in partnership with the Head of Total Rewards.
  • Manage salary survey participation, compensation reporting, and analyses that support business decisions.
  • Analyze internal and external compensation data to provide recommendations that support equitable, competitive and consistent pay decisions.
  • Partner with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Finance, and business leaders to support compensation-related decisions and guidance.
  • Maintain and continuously improve Smartly’s compensation infrastructure, including Workday compensation configuration, salary structures, and the global job architecture.
People Analytics, Data & Insights
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and workforce analyses that support compensation and broader People decisions.
  • Analyze workforce and compensation data to identify trends, gaps, and inconsistencies, and recommend actions.
  • Validate and audit HR data, identifying data quality issues and resolving them proactively.
  • Improve reporting processes by standardizing outputs, increasing efficiency, and reducing manual work.
  • Explore and implement innovative approaches—including AI, automation, and analytics—to improve how the People team works, enabling more scalable, data-informed decision making across the employee lifecycle.
  • Improve data models, reporting structures, and analytics processes over time.
What We Are Looking For
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in compensation, people analytics, HRIS, workforce analytics, or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel or Google Sheets experience and confidence working with large datasets.
  • Experience building dashboards or data visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently on well-defined problems and manage priorities.
  • Naturally curious, with a continuous improvement mindset and an interest in simplifying processes through automation, AI, and better ways of working.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable working with sensitive data and maintaining confidentiality.
Nice to have
  • Experience with Workday (Core HCM and/or Compensation).
  • Experience supporting compensation programs such as salary benchmarking, market pricing, salary reviews, or pay equity analyses.
  • Experience using SQL, Python, or similar tools to query, automate, or analyze data.
  • Experience with AI tools to improve reporting, analysis, or operational efficiency.
What We Offer You
  • Five weeks paid time off (PTO), 11 company paid holidays, unlimited sick days.
  • Generous healthcare packages & mental health benefits.
  • 401(k) plus matching & equity grants for all new Smartlies.
  • Wellness benefit & learning reimbursement opportunities.
  • Volunteer time off days & company donation matching opportunities.
  • And so much more.

Salary in USD: $80,000 - $100,000
