Institutional Research Specialist (Data Integration)

• Develop and maintain data integration solutions for student information systems, learning management systems, and other educational technologies, using appropriate tools to extract, transform, and load data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and administration, to understand data requirements and design integration processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data integration workflows to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Perform data mapping, transformation, and validation to support academic and administrative needs.
• Document data integration processes and provide training to end‑users.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data integration.
• Support data quality by recommending and enforcing data quality standards and procedures.
• Conduct regular data quality assessments and audits to identify and resolve data issues.
• Implement data cleansing and validation techniques to ensure high‑quality data.
• Collaborate with data stewards and other stakeholders to improve data quality across the institution.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and institutional policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment or designee.

• Bachelor's Degree and at least four years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
• Five to eight years of experience in data integration, database administration, or related higher‑education settings (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 BI tools and languages (Power BI, Power Automate, DAX, M) and SQL.
• Ability to develop and maintain data transformation scripts and workflows.
• Strong understanding of data integration processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with student learning data from Learning Management Systems and other institutional systems.
• Knowledge of CUNY First architecture and reporting practices.

Salary Range: $57,252 - $86,741 (commensurate with education and experience).
