AI Engineer (Applied/Software), AI Business & Operations
Location: New York
Traba is building an AI operating layer for the industrial supply chain, leveraging proprietary data from millions of shifts to drive productivity gains and transform global supply chain operations.
RoleWe are looking for an entrepreneurial and experienced Product Manager to join as a founding member of the Agents team. You will help build the next layer of Traba's product: an agentic platform that synthesizes marketplace data and operates autonomously within clients’ supply‑chain workflows. This is a true 0‑to‑1 product role at the frontier of applied AI, reporting directly to the VP of Product.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Architect and steward product strategy for Traba’s AI agent platform.
- Solve complex customer problems by balancing user needs, technical constraints, and evolving AI capabilities.
- Write detailed product requirements and partner deeply with product engineers and ML teams.
- Rapidly validate and prototype ideas alongside customers and design partners.
- Design agent systems that reason through workflows, orchestrate tools, maintain context, and execute meaningful work.
- Define product behavior, evaluation systems, and quality frameworks that improve reliability and performance.
- Use data to uncover patterns and answer key product and system questions.
- Evolve the AI product portfolio with a deep understanding of model capabilities and system architecture.
- Visualize and communicate complex concepts from system behavior and evaluations to user experiences and business impact.
- Socialize your work across all levels and departments while synthesizing diverse stakeholder feedback.
Real agent builder. You have launched customer‑facing AI products where the system executed meaningful actions on behalf of users. Shipping AI features, copilots, or lightweight LLM integrations alone is not sufficient; you know how to build autonomous workflow‑executing agents.
0‑to‑1 operator. You have built products from scratch with real customers, iterated on product‑market fit, and made bold pivots when needed.
AI‑native problem solver. You thrive in environments where models evolve constantly and assumptions shift, managing prompt rewrites, reliability trade‑offs, and capability cliffs.
First‑principles thinker. You spend equal time asking why, how, and what, grounding judgment in systems knowledge rather than generic playbooks.
Customer‑embedded builder. You embed deeply with early customers, understand workflows firsthand, and ship based on direct feedback loops.
Technical depth. You operate alongside ML engineers and technical teams, understanding evaluations, comparing system trade‑offs, and prototyping ideas.
Builder mentality. You embrace ambiguity, move fast, and create meaningful outcomes without relying on large teams or excessive processes.
Deeply collaborative. You work seamlessly across engineering, ML, operations, design, leadership, and customers.
What You’ll Bring- 7–10 years of experience as a Product Manager.
- Evidence of launching products from scratch and driving meaningful customer outcomes.
- Experience building AI‑native products or customer‑facing agent systems.
- Strong technical abilities and the ability to work closely with engineering and ML teams.
- Ability to read evaluations, reason through system performance, and prototype ideas.
- Experience operating in highly ambiguous startup environments with fast iteration cycles.
- Deep familiarity with AI tools and hands‑on experience building with modern AI systems.
- Desire to work at a startup and cover an exceptionally wide surface area.
- A strong work ethic and desire to build a category‑defining company.
- Start‑up equity.
- Competitive salary.
- 100% paid health, dental, and vision coverage.
- Dining support via food delivery service and stocked kitchen for NY employees.
