Overview
Data Analyst – Healthcare (Azure Databricks). Fractal is a strategic AI partner to Fortune 500 companies with a focus on driving data-driven decisions across healthcare data domains, including claims, provider, member, and finance datasets. This role emphasizes data analysis, source-to-target mapping, governance, and analysis-ready data to support forecasting, reporting, and AI/ML use cases. The ideal candidate combines advanced SQL and data analysis skills with deep healthcare domain knowledge and hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and modern data platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct data analysis and profiling of complex healthcare datasets (claims, providers, members, finance).
- Create and maintain Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documents with traceability across systems.
- Define and standardize data definitions, business glossary, transformations, and business rules.
- Identify data anomalies and trends, and work toward resolution.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into analytical solutions.
- Define and manage data intake processes and onboarding of new datasets.
- Act as a bridge between business, SMEs, data engineering, and data science teams for clarification and validation.
- Write and validate complex, optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
- Work with large datasets using Azure Databricks (Spark, SQL, Python/Scala) and validate data pipeline outputs.
- Leverage Snowflake and cloud data warehouses as applicable; collaborate with engineering teams to ensure scalable and secure data solutions.
- Handle healthcare data with attention to domain rules and data quality.
- Advanced SQL querying and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake).
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, Snowflake; Big Query a plus).
- Knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT concepts, and data warehousing.
- Strong experience with healthcare data, especially claims data; familiarity with provider, member, and financial datasets.
- Understanding of healthcare data standards and business rules.
- Data profiling, root cause analysis, and validation expertise.
- Ability to create and maintain Source-to-Target Mapping documents.
- Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and drive clarity; strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to work cross-functionally and take ownership.
- B.Tech/MCA (minimum 16 years of formal education).
- Overall 8+ years of experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Azure (ADF) and Databricks.
- 5 years of experience in writing advanced SQL.
- Improved data quality, consistency, and governance.
- Faster onboarding of new datasets with reduced dependency on engineering teams.
- Enhanced forecast accuracy and analytics reliability.
- Reduced manual data preparation effort.
- Delivery of business-ready, analysis-ready datasets for advanced analytics.
The wage range reflects relevant factors such as skill sets, experience, and location. Current estimated range: $140,000 – $160,000, with eligibility for discretionary bonuses based on performance.
