Senior Analyst Operations Strategy

The Operations Strategy & Data Analysis team partners with Jet Blue's operating groups to translate data into actionable insights that drive continuous improvement on performance, reliability, and efficiency across Jet Blue's network. The team leads both recurring performance reporting and high-impact analytical initiatives, leveraging rich internal and external datasets to uncover trends and patterns, identify root causes, and eliminate operational bottlenecks.

The Senior Analyst plays a critical role in advancing those initiatives through rigorous analysis and will design, develop, and own analytical tools and models that support statistical analysis, root cause investigations, and predictive insights. The ideal candidate brings a passion for aviation and a strong understanding of airline operations, particularly operational reliability. They possess exceptional problem-solving capabilities, advanced quantitative skills, and the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable narratives for cross-functional stakeholders.

• Analyze Jet Blue operational performance, assess potential constraints and work with relevant stakeholder teams on action items to improve baseline
• Perform deep dives into technical data from Maintenance and Engineering systems (TRAX) and other platforms used by the Technical Operations department
• Produce and ensure accuracy of monthly reporting for various internal teams; create automated reports and dashboards with operational data
• Determine strategy for Jet Blue operational reliability
• Work with operating groups to determine requirements/buffers that would set them up for reliable performance and analyze (opportunity) cost/trade-offs of those
• Actively review the performance of Jet Blue's fleet to ensure strong operational performance and identify areas of improvement from a Technical Operations perspective
• Perform ad hoc operability-related projects in support of senior leadership
• Build relationships with operational partners across the system
• Support the various teams within the Technical Operations department and other internal departments who engage with aircraft maintenance data
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's degree in aviation, mathematics, operations research, quantitative analysis, computer science, industrial engineering or a related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
• Three (3) years of analytical experience with proven ability to reconcile, compare, evaluate and analyze data
• Strong capability with database querying (e.g., Structured Query Language (SQL)) and/or high-level programming language(s) (such as Python, or R)
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Spotfire, PowerBI)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power Point
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills with a positive, "can-do" attitude
• Good written and interpersonal skills
• Experience communicating with senior leadership
• Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test
• Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
• Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

• Four (4) years of work experience in aviation, management consulting, or a related field
• One (1) year of work experience at an airline in Enterprise/Operations Planning, Network Planning, Revenue Management, or Finance
• One (1) year of work experience at an airline in Tech Ops or Maintenance Engineering
• Master's degree in aviation, mathematics, operations research, quantitative analysis, computer science, industrial engineering or a related field
• Experience with statistical packages (e.g. R, scikit-learn, etc.)
• Experience with optimization models, linear and/or integer programming, simulation or machine learning, including deep learning
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
• Regular attendance and punctuality
• Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
• Able to maintain a professional appearance
• When working or traveling on Jet Blue flights, and if time permits, all capable crew members are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
