Data Analyst, IT Business Analyst
The New York City Department of Veterans' Services (DVS) connects, mobilizes, and empowers New York City's Veteran community in order to foster purpose-driven lives for New York City Service Members – past and present – in addition to their caregivers, survivors, and families.
The Financial Information Services Agency - Office of Payroll Administration (FISA-OPA) supports and maintains the financial and payroll systems of the City of New York. FISA-OPA is seeking a College Aide to work as a Business Analyst for the Debt Management System (DMS). The DMS application stores the City's bond information and is used by investment banks, City agencies, bond counsels, and financial advisors.
Under the supervision of the Director of DMS, the College Aide will be responsible for the following:
- Load municipal bond information into DMS, work with users and DMS team members to resolve issues and verify accuracy of the data.
- Conduct functional testing by writing test scripts, executing test scenarios, and documenting test results.
- Perform other tasks as assigned e.g. write requirement documents, upload official documents, perform data analysis using SQL queries, etc.
Hours/Shift
17 1/2 hours Weekly/Day when school is in session. Up to 35 hours Weekly/Day when school is not in session.

RequirementsFor Assignment Level I:
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school. For Assignment Level II (Information Technology):
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow):
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.
Appointments to this Assignment Level will be made by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications. SPECIAL NOTE Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years. No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session.
Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.
