Job Summary

As a Snowflake Data Governance Steward/Engineer 3 on Free Wheel’s Data Management and Platforms team, you will leverage a dynamic skill set in our rapidly growing Snowflake Environment. This team is responsible for Free Wheel’s Data Governance Management, Internal Tooling Architecture, and Self-service BI Data Store Management and you will contribute in all of those areas. You will be an excellent communicator who is comfortable providing expert consultation on our tool sets both remotely and in person to all levels of the organization.

You will have a passion for Data Governance and Data technologies and will code, test, and debug new and existing applications using SQL and other Data Engineering and BI Tools. You will be driven to learn about Free Wheel’s Ad-Tech driven products (MRM, Beeswax, Strata, and others) and how their processes are implemented in Snowflake and other Tools such as Tableau, Looker, and  You will be a subject matter expert that understands how data flows across our platforms and assist in creating cleaner and streamlined data workflows throughout the Free Wheel Enterprise.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Design new software and Data Engineering applications in the Snowflake Environment
  • Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in Snowflake and related technologies.
  • Develop advanced Snowflake SQL and ETL code for support of Free Wheel’s BI Systems
  • Implement Snowflake standards and best practices.
  • Implement advanced data controls (RBAC/ABAC) in Snowflake and in internal Free Wheel Tools.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and business partners to understand their needs and transform them into functioning solutions.
  • Employ platform best practices to deliver world-class solutions.
  • Conduct regular presentations both in person and remotely to all levels of the Free Wheel organization on Data Governance and Snowflake best practices.
  • Author and review Data Governance and Snowflake standards and best practices in written form.
  • Assist Trust and Standards Management in development of standards, guidelines, and best practices for Snowflake and general Data Governance at Free Wheel.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.
  • Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Selected candidate will be required to work Eastern Standard Hours.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative or similar field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data governance, Data Analysis, and/or Data Engineering
  • Knowledge of Snowflake Architecture, Best Practices, and Implementation required.
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake SQL Development is required.
  • Data Governance implementation and design experience is a major plus.
  • RBAC/ABAC design and implementation experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Visualization BI tools (Looker and Tableau is a plus).
  • Experience with Fivetran or other ETL Tools is a plus.
  • Experience with  Service Cloud Development is a plus.
  • Experience in Advertising Technology is a major plus.
  • Experience with Free Wheel Data and Products (MRM, Beeswax, Strata) is a plus.
  • Experience with Atlan or other Data Tools is a plus.
  • Ability to drive software development activities to meet project schedules and timelines.
  • Ability to ensure code quality is high with supporting unit tests.
  • Must have the ability to scope the technical portion of a project, estimate effort, and develop/architect individual solutions.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical groups.
  • Must be team player who possesses the ability to work with cross-functional and geographically diverse teams.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies is preferred.
