Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Expert Business Analyst to support a State Client on enterprise application initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business analysis, functional analysis, requirements gathering, software testing, system documentation, and stakeholder management throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Required Skills7+ years of Business Analysis and Functional Analysis experience
Strong experience gathering and documenting business requirements
Experience creating BRDs, Business Use Cases, System Use Cases, Test Plans, and Test Cases
Hands-on experience with SDLC methodologies
Manual Testing, Test Data Creation, Test Execution, and Defect Tracking
Strong SQL experience for data validation and testing
IBM Mainframe experience including TSO and File Master
Public Sector / State Government project experience
Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation skills
Experience supporting Higher Education programs/projects
Experience mentoring Business Analysts
Enterprise application implementation experience
Conduct business and functional analysis for enterprise applications
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements
Develop BRDs, Use Cases, Functional Documents, Test Plans, and Test Cases
Execute system testing, validate results, and coordinate defect resolution
Create test data and perform SQL-based data validation
Work closely with business users, technical teams, and project stakeholders
Support project delivery across all SDLC phases
Maintain project documentation and knowledge transfer
Mentor junior team members on business analysis best practices
Local candidates within commuting distance of Albany, NY are highly preferred.
Public Sector/State Government experience is required.
Strong Business Analysis, Testing, SQL, and IBM Mainframe experience are mandatory.
