The role involves providing advanced production support, leading operational initiatives, and driving project-driven improvements to maintain high availability and performance in a complex, mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver advanced Level 2 and Level 3 support for Windows and Linux server environments across the enterprise.
  • Oversee the stability, availability, and performance of infrastructure components such as operating systems, virtualization, and core platform services.
  • Manage patching, upgrades, and lifecycle processes for Windows and Linux platforms, aligning with security, compliance, and enterprise standards.
  • Administer and support identity and authentication systems including Active Directory, LDAP, SSSD, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, sudo, and access controls.
  • Perform server provisioning, configuration, and decommissioning for physical, virtual, and cloud-based systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to OS, hardware, and platform components, including CPU, memory, disk, network, storage, and kernel services.
  • Lead or contribute to automation and scripting efforts using tools such as Power Shell, Bash, and Python to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure environment resilience, performance, and recoverability through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning.
  • Coordinate system maintenance, upgrades, and deployment activities following established change and release management processes.
  • Respond to critical and major incidents, leading end-to-end restoration, root cause analysis, and post-incident review efforts.
  • Support application deployments by collaborating with application, database, middleware, storage, network, and security teams.
  • Develop operational metrics, dashboards, and KPIs to deliver actionable insights for leadership.
  • Promote platform standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement across various environments.
  • Act as a technical escalation point and mentor for engineers supporting Windows, Linux, and platform operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Hands‑on experience managing enterprise‑scale Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu, or similar) environments.
  • Expertise in Windows platform services (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP) and Linux system administration (system management, networking, file systems, permissions).
  • Proven track record supporting mission‑critical, high‑availability platforms within regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes, including incident, problem, change, and release management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and resolve critical and major production incidents across multi‑platform environments.
  • Over 10 years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, or production support roles.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting using Power Shell and Linux scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
  • Solid understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware ESXi or equivalent) and virtual infrastructure operations.
  • Experience supporting cloud and hybrid environments, including Windows and Linux workloads on platforms like AWS.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, SCCM, Intune, Terraform, or similar.
  • Exposure to enterprise monitoring, logging, and alerting platforms across OS and infrastructure layers.
  • Familiarity with security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and audit compliance for both Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Experience with capacity planning, performance tuning, and designing for platform resiliency.
  • Prior leadership experience mentoring engineers and managing operational initiatives related to platform service delivery.
