Job Summary:
The Dev Ops Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Dev Ops practices that enable reliable, scalable, and efficient delivery of software solutions. This role focuses on CI/CD automation, deployment pipelines, environment management, and production support, with a strong emphasis on Azure Dev Ops.
The position requires a solid background in software development to effectively support application teams and ensure alignment between development and deployment practices. The Dev Ops Engineer will also define best practices, establish standards, and provide internal training to drive adoption of Dev Ops methodologies, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC), across the organization.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure Dev Ops to automate build, test, and deployment processes
- Administer and configure Azure Dev Ops, including repositories, branching strategies, pipeline templates, and artifact management
- Define, standardize, and enforce Dev Ops best practices across teams, including CI/CD, release management, and environment strategy
- Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) to ensure consistent, repeatable environments
- Support application teams in integrating Dev Ops processes into their workflows, leveraging prior development experience to bridge gaps
- Monitor pipeline performance, deployment success, and system reliability, and troubleshoot issues across environments
- Participate in release planning, deployment execution, validation, approval, and post-release support
- Produce and maintain documentation, including pipeline design, environment configurations, and operational runbooks
- Develop and deliver internal training programs on Azure Dev Ops, CI/CD practices, and Dev Ops methodologies
- Mentor and guide team members to improve Dev Ops adoption, technical capability, and adherence to standards
- Collaborate with development, QA, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions
- Drive continuous improvement of Dev Ops tools, processes, and automation to increase efficiency and quality
- Architect and enforce Dev Sec Ops practices within Azure Dev Ops by embedding role-based access controls, automated vulnerability scanning, secret management, branch protection rules, and security/compliance checks in CI/CD pipelines
- Occasional travel (approximately 5-10%) to support deployments, troubleshooting, and system implementations at manufacturing sites
Experience:
- 3-5+ years of experience in Dev Ops engineering or related roles
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working with Azure Dev Ops or similar platforms
- Experience supporting or contributing to software development teams or initiatives
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code in enterprise environments
- Experience supporting application deployments and production systems
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong knowledge of Dev Ops principles, CI/CD practices, and release management methodologies
- Advanced skills in Azure Dev Ops, including pipelines, repositories, artifacts, and workflow configuration
