Location: New York
Responsibilities Security Planning
- Develop a security plan for the best standards and practices for the company
- Continuously update the company’s incident response and disaster recovery plans
- Research the latest information technology security trends to keep up to date with the subject and use the latest technology to protect information
- Plan and implement/migrate security solutions on premises and cloud environment
- Perform security admin operations and setup of security policies and ACLs on devices
- Conduct periodical patch/firmware updates for vulnerabilities
- Comprehend why a piece of software does what it does to patch a bug or analyze malware
- Monitor the company's IT network and systems for any security breaches and investigate/respond to these threats promptly if they occur
- Monitor IT systems and networks to assess risks and determine how policies can be improved
- Detect and quickly respond to security attacks and recommend fixing any flaws in IT systems
- Manage the negative effects of an attack or breach, from minimizing the impact to altering security controls for future prevention by analyzing security breaches to identify the root cause
- Install software that is created to protect sensitive information, such as firewalls and data encryption programs
- Aid in the prevention of crime through the collection, analysis, and reporting of data. Create evidence in the event of a breach
- Understand how to check any changes in detail in IT/Security systems
- Anticipate potential danger in IT systems and use ingenuity to implement new methods to protect the company's systems
- Conduct penetration/vulnerability testing and risk analysis to expose weak points and identify potential threats so that the company can protect itself from security attacks
- Verify the security of third-party vendors and collaborate to meet security requirements
- Make recommendations about security advancements to best protect the company's systems
- Recommend to install a new program or learn about security procedures
- Help with both internal and external security audits
- Have expertise in network and server/PC security engineering and architecture
- Have interpersonal skills for security training protocols, and regularly communicate with executive leadership
- Are detail-oriented and have an analytical mindset to work with scenarios
- Has at least 3 years of experience in the IT fields
- Has or pursues the certification(s) related to the IT security field (cyber security, information security, network security, server security, cloud security, etc.)
