The Role
We’re building the automation, orchestration, and monitoring layer that unifies our virtualization and end-user computing estate into a single, software-managed platform. You’ll own the definition, design, implementation, and execution of the infrastructure that our business runs on — spanning on-premises virtualization, cloud, and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI/HVD) across every stage from architecture through production operations. At Tapestry, we have the freedom to express ourselves and run with our best ideas.
Every individual in our global house has the opportunity to make an impact, learn, and be part of our growing and unique story. You’ll take high-level roadmaps and turn them into real technical execution: designing the platforms, building the automation that runs them, and being the hands‑on expert who owns the outcome. You’ll ensure our virtual desktop and virtualization environments deliver on business requirements, stay highly available, and scale cleanly — and you’ll move fluidly between the whiteboard and the keyboard, because you own both.
You’ll Do
- Own the design and implementation of our virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Nutanix) from planning through deployment, including capacity, performance, and lifecycle.
- Own the VDI/HVD estate end to end across AWS Work Spaces, Omnissa Horizon, and Microsoft Windows 365 / Azure Virtual Desktop — architecture, provisioning, image management, and tuning.
- Build the automation and monitoring stack that provisions, patches, and manages infrastructure at scale, eliminating manual effort and configuration drift.
- Own hands‑on Windows Server administration, and support Linux workloads as part of a mixed estate.
- Own resilient networking and cloud connectivity for infrastructure and desktop workloads (routing, DNS, load balancing, secure remote access).
- Turn early technical groundwork into functioning, deployed systems — and take them to production scale.
- Assist in managing on‑premise datacenters.
- Run technical projects independently: migrations, platform rollouts, and modernization efforts from design through cutover.
- Interface with internal teams and external vendors, and manage third‑party vendors on provisioning, maintenance, and break‑fix support.
- Own the documentation, standards, runbooks, and security hardening that keep the platform reliable and auditable.
- 7+ years of infrastructure engineering experience with strong systems‑level technical judgment.
- Proven expertise in virtualization: VMware ESXi and Nutanix.
- Strong hands‑on Windows Server administration, with working knowledge of Linux, networking, and cloud (AWS and/or Azure).
- Demonstrated VDI/HVD experience with one or more of: AWS Work Spaces, Omnissa Horizon, Microsoft Windows 365 / Azure Virtual Desktop.
- An automation‑first mindset — you build repeatable processes and tooling by default (e.g. Power Shell, Python, plus config management / IaC such as Ansible or Terraform).
- A track record of owning technical projects and driving them to completion at production scale.
- Observability instincts: monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting distributed environments.
- Strong communication — you ship fast, you explain clearly, and you move easily between…
