Deputy Chief Information Security Officer at Touro University

Touro University seeks a Deputy Chief Information Security Officer to serve as the principal lead to the CISO and provide continuity of leadership for the Information Security program across all Touro University campuses and affiliates — including serving as acting CISO when required.

• Operationalize the Information Security strategy, goals, and performance measures; represent Information Security on governance committees
• Lead enterprise incident response, coordinating with internal stakeholders, third-party vendors, cyber insurance carriers, and legal counsel
• Manage daily security operations: data protection, entitlement reviews, vulnerability management, and security monitoring/logging
• Develop, review, and enforce security policies aligned with FERPA, HIPAA, GDPR, GLBA, and institutional risk posture
• Maintain risk registers and control gap analyses aligned with NIST CSF and NIST AI RMF, with audit‑ready documentation

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field (Information Security major preferred)
• Five or more years of information security experience in a higher‑education leadership role
• CISM or CISSP required; CISA strongly desired
• Deep knowledge of information security domains, compliance frameworks, and security tooling
