We are looking for a Director of Analytics, Forecasting and Business Insights. This role is responsible for (1) Forecasting and Business Insights, and (2) SEC reporting. You will communicate clearly, juggle multiple priorities, and lead teams through ambiguous problem spaces with a strong team‑first attitude. The role focuses on enhancing Senior Management and Board‑Level decision making to further Etsy’s mission to re‑imagine commerce.

• Data scientists at Etsy use rigorous methods to generate insights that inform product, marketing, engineering, and business decisions across the company.
• Collaborate with partner teams through all stages of development: uncovering opportunity areas, crafting experiments, analyzing impact, and highlighting actionable takeaways.
• The role sits within the Strategic Finance team and has regular exposure to C‑Suite leadership.
• Learning new skills is both a requirement and a perk; we seek creative problem‑solvers who help guide partner teams with data and insights.

• Lead a team of Data/Strategic Finance Analysts responsible for Forecasting and Business Insights and SEC reporting.
• Forecasting and Business Insights: shape the narrative for marketplace health, influence investment decisions, and lead investigations that impact business decisions.
• SEC Reporting: provide analytics support to Accounting and Investor Relations for quarterly earnings processes (SEC filings, earnings presentations, etc.) and translate internal strategy into clear narratives for investors and partners.
• Ad‑Hoc Projects: dig deeper into financial and broader projects that unlock insights, drive deeper understanding of new opportunities for growth, and shape strategic decisions among senior leadership.
• This role encompasses other tasks that may evolve over time.

• 15+ years leading analytics, finance, business, and/or operational initiatives.
• 5+ years of managing teams.
• Strong track record of high‑impact strategic contributions and deep expertise in finance leadership and partnership.
• Passionate about using data and rigorous analytics to drive business decisions.
• Natural collaborator who influences decision‑making with a forward‑looking, solutions‑oriented approach.
• Strong executive presence, comfortable making high‑profile decisions with incomplete information.
• Proficient in SQL and either R or Python; bonus points for experience with Big Query, GCP, and analytics in cloud environments.
• Significant forecasting experience, including data‑driven time‑series modeling techniques (e.g., ARIMA, exponential smoothing, time series decomposition).
• Experience with Looker, Tableau, or other data visualization software.
• Previous participation in the budgeting and forecasting process at a company of similar or larger size, and thrives in a continuous planning environment.
