Machine Learning Researcher

Locations: London / New York / Hong Kong

We are helping a leading global quantitative investment firm hire exceptional AI Researchers / Research Scientists who have done something genuinely distinctive in artificial intelligence.

The focus is not on prior finance experience. We are looking for researchers and scientists who have demonstrated original thinking, technical depth and the ability to build or discover something meaningfully new with AI
.

Relevant backgrounds include:

• Agentic AI / Autonomous Agents
• Multi-Agent Systems
• Planning, Reasoning & Decision-Making
• Machine Learning for complex sequential problems

Strong candidates may have:

• Developed a novel model, architecture, algorithm or training methodology
• Built an AI or agent system with genuinely differentiated capabilities
• Published significant research at NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, CVPR, AAAI or similar venues
• Conducted high-impact research at a leading AI lab, university or technology company
• Created notable open-source AI research or systems
• Demonstrated exceptional mathematical, experimental or engineering ability
• Applied AI to difficult problems where standard approaches were insufficient

A PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline is preferred, but not essential for exceptional candidates.

You will work on challenging research problems involving prediction, learning, reasoning and decision-making
, with the opportunity to develop novel approaches and test them against large-scale real-world datasets.

The environment is highly research-driven, combining academic-style experimentation with practical deployment
, supported by substantial data, compute and engineering infrastructure.

No quantitative finance or trading experience is required.

We are particularly interested in people who can point to something they have done in AI that is original, unusual or technically exceptional
