A leading global investment management firm is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join its Infrastructure & Platform Engineering team.
This is a high-impact, hands-on engineering role focused on designing, building, and operating a modern cloud platform used by developers, researchers, and trading systems across the organization.
You’ll play a key role in shaping the firm’s public cloud architecture, platform strategy, and infrastructure automation, helping deliver a scalable and secure environment that supports mission-critical applications and high-performance workloads. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building cloud platforms, automating infrastructure, and working closely with development teams to deliver reliable production systems.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement scalable public cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure
- Architect and manage cloud platform services that support development and production workloads
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code environments using Terraform
- Deploy and operate containerized workloads using Kubernetes
- Develop automation and tooling using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages
- Partner with engineering teams to design cloud-native architectures and deployment strategies
- Build self-service infrastructure capabilities that enable developers to provision resources quickly and securely
- Ensure reliability, security, and performance across cloud-based applications and infrastructure
- Implement observability frameworks including monitoring, logging, and metrics
- Work closely with infrastructure and networking teams to support hybrid cloud environments
- Help define and evolve the organization’s cloud strategy, architecture standards, and platform capabilities
- Participate in on-call rotation and operational support
Required Experience
- 7+ years of experience building and operating large-scale cloud environments
- Strong expertise with AWS cloud architecture and services
- Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation, or similar)
- Strong experience working with Kubernetes and container platforms
- Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.)
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, hybrid infrastructure, and distributed systems
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Podman
- Solid understanding of Linux systems administration
- Experience implementing cloud security best practices
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and source control systems (Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience designing cloud architecture and platform engineering frameworks
- Experience with managed Kubernetes platforms (EKS, AKS, GKE)
- Familiarity with Fin Ops and cloud cost optimization strategies
- Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry, or Thanos
- Experience supporting high-performance or low-latency environments
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
- Experience supporting AI / ML infrastructure workloads
- Contributions to open-source projects or cloud-native communities
