ROLE SUMMARY
The Data Analyst , Medical Insights ( Senior Manager ) is accountable for delivering ad hoc and exploratory analysis that answers business and scientific questions the platform can't natively address, working globally across regions and the Medical Insights team . This role partners closely with the Insights Platform Lead, surfacing where recurring analytical requests reveal gaps the platform should be built to close.
It's a strategic fit for an analyst who wants direct, high-visibility impact on real business decisions while helping shape the future direction of a fast-growing global analytics platform.
- Respond to ad hoc business and medical questions that cannot currently be answered through Insight Xplorer , going directly to underlying data sources as needed.
- Investigate and synthesize findings into clear, decision-relevant outputs for Medical Affairs stakeholders.
- Prepare, validate , and maintain datasets required for exploratory and recurring analyses.
- Partner with Engagement Leads to clarify business questions, analytical scope, and timelines.
- Test, pilot, and evaluate new data sources, analytical methods, or AI-enabled approaches ahead of platform investment.
- Produce proof-of-concept analyses that give the Product Director independent, evidence-based input into roadmap prioritization decisions.
- Document findings, limitations, and recommendations from experimentation to inform go/no-go platform decisions.
- Maintain documentation for data sources, definitions, transformations, assumptions, and analytical methods.
- Support responsible, compliant use of Medical Insights data in accordance with governance, privacy, and legal requirements.
- Candidatedemonstratesa breadth of diverse capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of external stakeholders to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Clinical Informatics, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
- 6+ years of relevant experience conducting data analysis, interpretation, and reporting in a pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated environment.
- Proficiency with analytical and data-visualization tools such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Dataiku, Python, or R.
- Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business questions into analytical approaches and clear outputs, working independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to analytical accuracy, documentation, and reproducibility.
- Advanced degree or certification in analytics, data science, statistics, or a related discipline.
- Experience in Medical Affairs or a related pharmaceutical function.
- Familiarity with natural-language processing, machine learning, or text-analytics approaches.
- Experience running proof-of-concept or pilot analyses ahead of production build-out.
- Applies analytical and critical thinking to complex medical and business questions.
- Balances reactive, time-sensitive analysis with protected proactive experimentation.
- Communicates complex analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
