Role Responsibilities
Role definition and key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Insights Generation & AI-Enabled AnalyticsProactively initiate analysis and innovative methodology to identify business drivers, uncover risks and opportunities, and help shape brand strategy and tactics, rather than responding to requests.
Serve as the subject matter expert for secondary commercial analytics within an assigned therapeutic area (e.g., Dermatology), maintaining deep fluency in the disease and treatment landscape, treatment sequencing, competitive dynamics, and evolving standard of care.
Guide analysis through the lens of defined patient segments, demographics, lines of therapy, treatment setting, and prior treatment history, to explain how disease characteristics and treatment patterns shape market dynamics, prescribing behavior, and patient flow.
Direct the use of secondary data sources and subnational analytics to surface risks and opportunities and connect data signals directly to brand strategy decisions, ensuring insights get surfaced proactively rather than on request.
Champion the use of AI tools, including AI-generated dashboards and automated reporting, to reduce manual data wrangling and free up capacity for deeper insight generation, ensuring the underlying reporting infrastructure (e.g., SpecialtyCareLTDashboard) stays accurate or is transitioned to AI-enabled alternatives.
Connect insights into a compelling, persuasive narrative and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Thought Leadership- Act as a strategic partner to Brand Teams, IIS, Data Science, and Data Strategy & Management, co-shaping analytical approach and priorities rather than simply aligning on standards after the fact.
- Align with other GCA teams to keep activity across stakeholders cohesive and to maintain consistency in methodology, metrics definitions, and reporting standards across the broader portfolio.
- Actively contribute to the advancement of team capabilities through thought leadership, with a particular focus on AI innovation and tool adoption, and share knowledge and expertise with colleagues across GCA.
- Partner with Data Science and Data Strategy & Management to advance the use of novel data sources, AI/ML methods, and next-generation reporting approaches.
- Direct and assess the work of vendor partners, providing analytical direction, quality oversight, and risk management.
- Build trusted relationships with marketing, integrated insights, commercial excellence, data science, and market access stakeholders, translating complex analytical outputs into business language for VP and C-suite leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to drive AI innovation and adoption in commercial analytics, evaluating, piloting, and scaling AI tools and agents to reduce manual data wrangling and accelerate insight generation, and genuine curiosity about how AI is reshaping analytics and commercial insights.
- Strong analytical and coding skills (SQL, Python, or R) sufficient to direct and quality-check AI-assisted and automated analytics workflows on large datasets; experience in Snowflake or a comparable cloud data environment preferred.
- Strong proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, or similar) and the ability to direct the design of clean, decision-oriented, increasingly AI-generated dashboards that convey insight rather than raw data.
- Extensive experience in the design and management of secondary data analytics, including direct experience with IQVIA, Symphony Health, or specialty pharmacy data, and depth in at least one therapeutic area.
