IT Senior Associate Level 1 (Hourly) - Office of Information & Technology Services
GENERAL DUTIESI.T. Senior Associates perform highly complex professional work in technology-related disciplines. While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Senior Associates perform a range of work in development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include diagnosing, evaluating, overseeing and resolving highly complex projects. They have wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may serve in lead roles on complex programs or projects, and/or serve as a direct supervisor of a unit or group.
I.T. Senior Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines, decision-making ability in situations related to those disciplines, and be able to serve as a resource in these areas. They may contribute to decisions on I.T. policies and technical standards.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATIONNew York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY), is a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn. The Office of Information & Technology Services at City Tech welcomes applications for a part-time position of IT Senior Associate (Hourly).
The Office of Information & Technology Services (OITS) is responsible for overall campus technology services and policies, including maintaining the campus network infrastructure, security compliance, service desk support and data reporting. The IT Senior Associate supports and drives the design, development, integration, and ongoing support of enterprise applications and data-driven systems across the College, serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in application development, and leads development of application projects.
Reporting to the Web and Application Development Manager, the IT Senior Associate will:
Serve as a technical resource/subject matter expert in application development and database technologies. Provide guidance and knowledge-sharing to junior staff and project teams.
Lead or contribute to application development projects of moderate to high complexity from design through deployment. Develop and maintain automation workflows and intelligent agents to streamline operations, improve service responsiveness, and enable self-service capabilities. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, code, and data flows.
Design, develop, and deploy Microsoft Copilot-enabled solutions to enhance productivity, automation, and user experience across the College. Build, configure, and support custom Copilot agents and conversational experiences using Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and related AI services. Integrate Copilot and AI agent capabilities into enterprise applications, workflows, and IT service delivery models.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-driven solutions, including process automation, knowledge retrieval, and decision support.
Design, develop, and maintain web-based applications using modern frameworks, programming languages, and development tools. Diagnose, evaluate, and resolve complex application and database performance issues
Develop and manage relational and/or non-relational database systems, including schema design, data modeling, and optimization. Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects to support enterprise applications and reporting.
Design and implement system integrations and APIs between enterprise systems (e.g., Workday, People Soft, third-party applications).
Create Copilot Agents and API integrations.
Support data integration workflows, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions and application designs.
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with CUNY policies and best practices.
