The engineer will own the technical approach from requirements gathering and fiber/network architecture through RFP/specification development, vendor coordination, field implementation, and system migration. Success will be measured by the ability to develop a consistent, scalable fiber architecture; establish clear technical specifications; effectively coordinate vendors and internal stakeholders; and support successful deployment and migration across the substation network. Responsibilities:
- Fiber/network design and architecture management, coordinate installation documents and monitor project progress.
- Development of technical specifications and RFP documentation across various projects, coordinate milestone communication to necessary parties.
- Vendor/contractor management and implementation coordination, manage KPI's and metrics and provide clear project updates.
- Substation deployment coordination across various projects, frequent cross-collaboration with other teams and managers as needed.
- System migration/integration from legacy databases over to updated/newer workflows.
- Serve as the dedicated Telecom/Fiber technical SME and project owner for a large-scale utility-grade fiber deployment connecting 100+ substations.
