UNIVERSAL Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced Web Sphere Administrator with at least 5 years of IBM Web Sphere Administration experience for a onsite role in New York, NY to support the production maintenance and phased implementation of enterprise HR, Benefits, Timekeeping, and Payroll systems. This is a permanent full-time opportunity open to candidates able to work for our company directly.

The Web Sphere Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ongoing support of critical middleware infrastructure, including IBM Web Sphere, IBM MQ, and Cognos.

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and four years of satisfactory full‑time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, or complex IT infrastructure engineering; OR
• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full‑time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, or complex IT infrastructure engineering; OR
• A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to one of the qualification requirements above.
• 5+ years of Middleware Administration experience, specifically supporting IBM Web Sphere Application Server Traditional (tWAS) and Web Sphere Liberty on Linux- or UNIX-based platforms.
• Experience managing Web Sphere Liberty server configurations, including server.xml, bootstrap.properties, and jvm.options

• Experience using Git for source control and configuration management.
• Experience using Ansible for middleware administration, automation, configuration management, and application deployments.
• Experience with Jenkins, Cloud Bees, or similar CI/CD tools

• Experience with Configuration as Code and Dev Ops methodologies
  .
• Experience administering associated middleware technologies such as IBM MQ, IBM HTTP Server, IBM Web Sphere Message Broker, Oracle Web Logic, and Cognos
  .
• Experience performing middleware application upgrades and patch installations.
• Experience understanding, troubleshooting, and debugging Java-related errors.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts and experience working with SQL
  .
• Experience supporting enterprise-wide, large-scale technology environments.
• Ability to perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of technical problems and production issues.
• Ability to support a 24x7 production environment and work nights and/or weekends when required.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple assignments according to established schedules and project deadlines.
• Ability to provide timely and accurate status updates when required.
• Ability to quickly learn new applications, technologies, and environments and resolve associated issues.
