Salesforce Marketing Cloud Functional Consultant

Our client is seeking a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Functional Consultant to join their team. As a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Functional Consultant, you will be part of the delivery organization supporting marketing technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong requirements gathering and stakeholder collaboration skills, the ability to translate business needs into functional specifications, and a proven track record supporting successful Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementations that drive measurable customer engagement outcomes.

Job Title: Salesforce Marketing Cloud Functional Consultant

Location: New York, NY

• Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into Salesforce Marketing Cloud functional requirements and solution specifications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define customer journeys, campaign workflows, segmentation strategies, and marketing processes.
• Create and manage user stories, business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios, coordinating testing activities, and validating business outcomes.
• Drive user training, change management, and adoption initiatives for Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions, including documentation of business processes and workflows.

• Strong understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud modules, including Journey Builder, Email Studio, Contact Builder, and Automation Studio.
• Experience in requirements gathering, business process mapping, and stakeholder management.
• Ability to translate business needs into functional and technical requirements, including creating user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of customer lifecycle marketing, campaign management, and personalization strategies.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and tools such as Jira or Azure Dev Ops.

• Hands-on involvement in discovery sessions, workshops, and solution reviews that shape the final implementation.
• Direct contribution to UAT readiness and successful deployment through clear functional documentation and validation.
• Engagement in training and adoption activities that help teams realize value from Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Experience working across SFMC capabilities, marketing operations processes, and delivery lifecycle phases including hypercare and post-implementation support.
