Head of Risk

The company is building a rent and security guarantee platform that performs real-time risk assessment to help housing providers approve more applicants while managing downside exposure.

This is a senior individual contributor role owning underwriting, pricing, and portfolio performance.

You will build and operate the core decisioning system that determines approvals and expected losses, working directly with leadership.

• Innovate and evolve the under wiring model
• Use alternative and behavioural data beyond traditional credit
• Own approvals, pricing calibration, and renewal logic
• Balance approval rate, revenue, and loss ratio
• Create monitoring and reporting across cohorts and geographies
• Identify emerging risk trends and adjust decisioning
• Support insurer and partner performance discussions

• Experience launching production risk or pricing models
• Strong feature discovery and alternative data background
• Familiar with loss ratio, expected loss, and claims dynamics
• Comfortable making decisions with imperfect data
• High ownership, startup environment experience OR excited to be part of small and growing team

• Assess current performance and data
• Begin building and testing the next generation underwriting model
