Claims Manager, Directors & Officers (D&O) Liability

Starr, a global leader in commercial insurance with over a century of expertise, is seeking a Claims Manager for Directors & Officers (D&O) Liability to actively manage D&O and other Financial Lines (FLPL) claims within the Financial and Professional Lines Claims Group.

Alternate:
Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, or San Francisco.

• Active management of D&O and other FLPL claims.
• Evaluate coverage and draft coverage correspondence.
• Undertake claims investigations and manage defense counsel and legal spend.
• Assess liability and financial exposure.
• Negotiate cost-effective, good‑faith claims resolutions.

• Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in the insurance/legal profession dealing specifically with FLPL claims.
• Experience handling primary private and non‑profit D&O, fiduciary liability (ERISA), and fidelity claims preferred; carrier experience a plus.
• In‑depth understanding of policy language/coverage.
• Experience managing, evaluating, mediating, and negotiating FLPL claims. In‑depth knowledge of the U.S. legal system, civil litigation, and ADR proceedings.
• Comprehensive understanding of federal and state laws applicable to various claims presented under FLPL policies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Compensation range: $170,000 – $190,000 (including skill sets, experience, licensure, and organizational needs).
