Senior Field Property Claims Specialist New York City
Our client is a highly respected financial services and insurance organization dedicated to serving the military community. They are looking for an experienced Senior Property Adjuster to join their field team in the New York City metropolitan area. This is a specialized role focused on managing complex residential property claims through a combination of virtual tools and physical on site inspections.
The RoleAs a dedicated specialist you will investigate and settle high level property claims while providing empathetic service to policyholders. You will analyze coverage determine liability and negotiate settlements within regulatory guidelines. While the role emphasizes a virtual first approach the company provides a vehicle for local territory inspections. You must be prepared to travel for catastrophe response or workload surges when required.
Key ResponsibilitiesProactively manage a caseload of complex property damage claims.
Conduct thorough investigations through research and interviews with various parties.
Assess policy coverage and identify potential subrogation or fraud concerns.
Utilize Xactimate and other estimation platforms to create accurate repair scopes.
Collaborate with vendors and internal legal teams to resolve claims involving attorney representation.
Maintain detailed file documentation and ensure compliance with state regulations.
Remain available for mandatory on call dates and potential travel to other regions during major weather events.
Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 2 years experience adjusting property claims involving structural and dwelling damages.
Expertise in Xactimate or similar estimation software.
Deep knowledge of residential construction and property insurance contracts.
Strong skills in negotiation conflict resolution and analytical problem solving.
Ability to travel between 50 and 75 percent of the year including local travel and catastrophe deployments.
Ability to obtain and maintain a P and C adjuster license within 90 days of hire.
Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
Physical RequirementsCapacity to climb ladders and walk on rooftops to conduct inspections.
Ability to lift at least 35 pounds including heavy equipment like ladders.
Comfort working in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience with a standard insurance carrier managing claims from initial report to final payment.
Specific experience with high severity losses including fire water damage and collapse.
Professional designations such as AIC CPCU AINS or SCLA.
Current residency in the New York City area.
Active Property and Casualty adjuster license.
Military experience or status as a military spouse is highly valued.
Compensation and BenefitsThe annual salary range for this position is 85,050 to 130,410 depending on experience and location. This is an hourly non exempt position with eligibility for overtime.
