What the day will look likeYou'll work closely with clients, surety carriers, and internal collaborators to deliver bond programs with accuracy, compliance, and outstanding service. This role involves significant client interaction and ownership of key accounts. It offers the chance to create an immediate impact while further developing your expertise in the specialized field of surety.
- Works under minimal supervision, exercising good judgment in routine and moderately complex client and market situations.
- Takes primary accountability in managing selected accounts.
- Possesses a working knowledge of surety bonds, including bond program structures, indemnity concepts, and market practices including accurate client interaction and advisement.
- May assist in onboarding, mentoring, and training internal team.
- Works closely with carriers every day to address evolving needs. Prepares and processes various surety instruments, such as bid, final, miscellaneous, and court bonds. Ensures these align with underwriting guidelines and client expectations.
- Collaborates with clients daily to meet their changing requirements. Implements Consents of Surety, Prequalification Letters, Riders, and other obligations required by clients in line with State rules. Determines the necessary documents to complete issuance, including power-of-attorney, resident license, and others, ensuring attention to contractual, legal, and financial details.
- Prepares General Indemnity Agreements and bond applications. Coordinates with and advises clients to acquire complete, accurate financial and corporate information for underwriting review. This includes any other nuanced client needs or requirements.
- Maintains and supports data accuracy and promotes proactive oversight of bond programs in Aon Bond Link (ABL).
- Works closely with internal collaborators to implement and ensure accurate, complete electronic bond files in Aon Bond Link (ABL). Also confirms and manages related client financial and underwriting records while following internal controls and audit requirements to prevent E&O.
- Manages countersignature requirements and related jurisdictional nuances to support compliant bond issuance across multiple states and territories.
- Provides technical surety mentorship and support to non-surety colleagues, helping interpret bond forms, indemnity requirements, and program structures for internal collaborators.
- Coordinates receipt and organization of pertinent client related underwriting information (e.g., financial statements, work-in-progress schedules, bank information, organizational documents) to support timely carrier decisions.
- Verifies that all bonds are issued within established surety lines of credit and brokerage authority. Assists in structuring and negotiating approvals for bond requests exceeding standard limits or outside delegated authority.
Unlike many surety operations roles focused mainly on transaction processing, this position combines technical surety expertise with client advisory duties and meaningful market involvement. You will work directly with complex bonding programs, underwriting negotiations, and carrier relationships while acting as a trusted resource for clients and internal colleagues. The role also allows for broader influence through mentoring, participation in process improvement, and responsibility for critical compliance and underwriting workflows.

- Retains Notary Public certification.
- Maintains Power of Attorney appointments with major surety markets and exercises such authority responsibly and in accordance with internal controls.
