We have the following job opportunity in our New York, NY or Chicago, IL office.
As a member of the Property Facultative team, the Underwriter will be a key driver of the business through fostering relationships with new and existing clients.
Responsibilities- Production underwriting of Facultative certificate and program business with an emphasis on Direct placements
- Generating new business opportunities from prospective Direct client companies
- Extensively marketing with an emphasis on building individual underwriter relationships
- Travelling domestically for marketing and audits up to 30% of the time
- Support Facultative team in Chicago as needed on new and renewal business submissions
- 5-10 years of Property Facultative Reinsurance underwriting experience (primary E&S will be considered)
- Self-Starter with ability to work in collaborative virtual team environment
- Solid understanding of primary insurance underwriting concepts including rate adequacy, line setting procedures, analysis of Probable Maximum Loss and Maximum Foreseeable Loss
- Strong knowledge of their regional market and proven track record of marketing to clients
- Ability to manage a high submission count
- Experience working in a paperless environment
- Extensive knowledge of Catastrophe exposure analysis including RMS and AIR Catastrophe modeling platforms CPCU and/or Are classes or other insurance studies preferred
- Proficient in Excel
Trans Re is supportive of an agile work schedule, which may differ based on individual roles, your local office’s practices and preferences marketplace trends, and Trans Re’s business objectives. This position is located in our New York City office and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office per week, and 2 days remote.
CompensationIn addition to base salary, for this position, Trans Re offers a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity. The anticipated annual base salary range in New York for this position, exclusive of benefits, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity is $150,000 – $200,000. This range is an estimate and the actual base salary offered for this position will be determined based on certain factors, including the applicant’s specific skill set and level of experience.
