Summary: We are looking for a highly capable Senior Commercial General Liability and Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster to join our Claims team and work primarily from our Richmond, VA or Omaha, NE offices. Candidates must be able to work on‑site at a designated company office during standard business hours. This role will adjudicate workers' compensation claims in the jurisdictions of AL, CO, FL, GA, NC, NJ, NY & SC and Commercial General Liability claims nationwide to provide superb results for our clients.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Adjudicate highly complex indemnity and federal black lung workers' compensation claims as well as commercial general liability claims.
- Provide laser‑focused customer service to clients by delivering superior claims outcomes and building lasting connections with insureds and brokers.
- Resolve difficult problems that require a broad understanding of related issues.
- Report to senior management, loss control and underwriters on claims trends and developments.
- Identify loss drivers and trends to reduce claims frequency and severity through data analysis and improved claim management.
- Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly, including interviewing all involved parties.
- Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, client instructions and other records to determine coverage.
- Write own coverage letters.
- Manage claims in litigation.
- Maintain a timely and complete task diary to ensure cases move toward the best financial outcome and resolution.
- Create and review reserves in line with market and Argo's reserving policy.
- Assign and coordinate expert resources to assist in case resolution.
- Prepare reports for file documentation.
- Apply creative solutions to achieve the best financial outcome.
- Settle straightforward claims within authority limits and adhere to organizational referral procedures.
- Negotiate cost‑effective solutions within limits using a range of negotiation styles.
- Prioritize workload and process mail efficiently.
- Complete telephone calls and written correspondence to/from parties involved in claims.
- Maintain an appreciation and passion for strong claim management.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial general liability and workers' compensation claims.
- Minimum five years of experience adjudicating both claim types in AL, CO, FL, GA, NC, NJ, NY & SC.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of experience and certifications.
- Must be licensed in AL, FL, GA, NC, NY, KY, and SC or able to obtain required license within 120 days.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of insurance operations.
