Overview
The Underwriter is a key member of the underwriting team reporting to the Regional Underwriting Manager. The primary goal of this position is to profitably grow a book of business by actively partnering with Agents and working effectively with colleagues throughout the organization. This person will plan and budget for the book of business, develop and maintain agency relationships, and execute underwriting decisions.
Responsibilities- Business Management: Review your book of business, track performance, and analyze market conditions and competition.
- Broker Partnership: Build and manage broker relationships, develop goals and strategies, and collaborate to craft tailored solutions for members.
- Underwriting Execution: Oversee new and renewal underwriting, select risks per company guidelines, and ensure timely follow-up and closing of accounts.
- At least 3 years of P&C insurance experience, preferably underwriting in the high net worth space.
- Comfortable owning a book of business and direct, empathetic communication.
- Ability to gather and analyze data needed to make risk decisions.
- Demonstrates pride and determination in work.

CompensationThe base salary for this role ranges from $70K to $85K, based on full-time schedule. Compensation varies by job-related skills, experience, geographic location, market data alignment, and equity among team members with comparable experience. You will also be eligible for annual merit-based increases and discretionary bonuses.
