Varney Agency is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to work in the Manhattan, NY location. The Account Manager will manage and service a sophisticated book of commercial property and casualty accounts, with a focus on real estate and related industries. This role serves as the primary client contact and works closely with Producers, carriers, and internal team members to deliver responsive service, review coverage needs, and support account retention and growth.
DescriptionVarney Agency is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to work in the Manhattan, NY location. The Account Manager will manage and service a sophisticated book of commercial property and casualty accounts, with a focus on real estate and related industries. This role serves as the primary client contact and works closely with Producers, carriers, and internal team members to deliver responsive service, review coverage needs, and support account retention and growth.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and service a book of complex commercial P&C accounts
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, Producers, and carrier partners
- Review policies, endorsements, contracts, loss runs, and coverage requirements
- Prepare renewal and new business submissions and market accounts to carriers
- Analyze coverage options, identify gaps, and present recommendations to clients
- Maintain accurate account documentation in the agency management system
Coordinate claims reviews, inspections, loss control, and stewardship activities as needed
- 5+ years of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance experience
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license required; NY and/or NJ preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages and real estate risks
- Experience with agency management systems;
Applied EPIC preferred - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Full-time, in-office position in Whippany, NJ or Manhattan, NY
- Occasional local travel within NY and NJ may be required.
