Actuary, Reserving

DW Simpson seeks an Actuary, Reserving to support P&C clients with robust reserve analyses and insights. In this role, you will develop and refine loss reserving models, perform quarterly reserve studies, analyze trends and assumptions, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations. You will collaborate closely with internal recruiters and external client stakeholders, helping them understand reserve risk, pricing implications, and capital impacts.

Responsibilities

• Perform quarterly and annual loss reserving analyses for P&C insurance portfolios.
• Develop, maintain, and refine reserving models and methodologies.
• Analyze loss trends, assumptions, and volatility, and quantify reserve risk.
• Prepare clear reports and presentations translating technical results for non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal recruiting teams and external clients to understand business needs and reserving objectives.
• Support capital, pricing, and planning discussions with reserve-related insights.
• Ensure compliance with applicable GAAP/STAT standards and actuarial best practices.
• Contribute to process improvement, automation, and data quality initiatives.
• Support mentoring of junior analysts/actuarial students on reserving techniques.
• Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and reserving methodologies.
