Our clients will not remember the settlement number. They will remember whether their calls were returned, whether someone knew their file before picking up the phone, and whether Atlas did what it said it would do.
At the desk adjuster level, that is a personal standard. At your level, it is something you build and enforce across a team.
We are hiring a Senior Claims Manager to run the claims operation — the files, the numbers, and the people. You need to be technically deep enough that no carrier adjuster can move you off a position, and enough of a manager that the standard holds on days you are not watching.
ABOUT ATLAS ADJUSTMENTSAtlas Adjustments is a public adjusting firm representing residential and commercial property owners after serious losses. We represent policyholders, not carriers.
Our files are frequently large and complex — fire and smoke losses in particular — and require coordinating clients, carrier adjusters, field adjusters, estimators, contractors, engineers, consultants, and contents and ALE teams.
We are also building the firm we want to run, not the one the industry hands us. We are actively developing our own claims platform and putting modern tooling in front of our adjusters instead of working around software built for someone else's business. If you have ideas about how claims work should actually be done, this is a place where they get built.
HOWWE WORK
This is not a clock-in, clock-out job.
The day starts at 8:00 AM and you are in the office with your team. After that, the measure is the work, not the clock. Files close on carrier timelines and client emergencies, not on a schedule that suits us, and there will be weeks where the job runs long. We are not going to pretend otherwise in a job posting.
What we offer in return is a seat with real authority, compensation that reflects it, and genuine upside as the firm grows. Atlas is expanding. The person who runs claims well here has room to run more than claims.
If you are looking for a role where you close the laptop at a fixed time regardless of what is sitting open, we are not the right fit, and we would rather you know that now.
WHAT YOU WILL OWNThe estimate:
- Write, rebuild, and audit Xactimate estimates on significant and contested losses
- Tear down carrier estimates line by line — scope gaps, quantity shortfalls, unit price, grade and LKQ substitutions, depreciation, general conditions, code upgrade — and build the differences argument in dollars
- Set pricing posture and market factoring positions, and defend them with documentation
- Review the team's estimates before they go out and hold the quality line on scope completeness
The claim:
- Set the target and the floor on every active file, and give your adjusters the lane to work inside
- Take over carrier negotiations personally when a file stalls, escalates, or exceeds the team's authority
- Run coverage analysis — policy, endorsements, exclusions, coinsurance and insurance-to-value exposure, business income and loss of rents — and route the claim into the right coverage lanes
- Drive files through appraisal, umpire, and pre-suit escalation where that is the right path
- Own the large and difficult files yourself
The team:
- Manage, train, and hold accountable the desk adjusters, field adjusters, and estimating and inventory staff
- Review diaries and file activity, kill stale claims, and enforce the client communication…
