Position

Summary

The Senior Business Analyst will support P&C insurance product, policy administration, claims, billing, data, and reporting initiatives. This role will partner closely with Product and Claims leadership to gather, reconcile, document, and validate business requirements, and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for technology and operational teams. This position is well suited for someone with strong P&C insurance product knowledge, experience working with insurance systems, and the ability to bring structure and clarity to complex business needs.

Duties

And Responsibilities
  • The Lead Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements for product and claims-related initiatives. This includes working with Product and Claims leadership to confirm business intent, define requirements, document business rules, and support alignment across stakeholders.
  • The role will require reviewing and interpreting P&C insurance documentation, including Declarations, Schedules, Coverage Forms, Endorsements, and related reports. The analyst will document product rules, workflows, data needs, system impacts, and operational requirements across policy administration, claims, billing, data, and reporting functions.
  • This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Claims, Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, Data, Reporting, IT, and Compliance. The analyst will help identify gaps between business needs, current system capabilities, downstream reporting, and operational processes.
  • The analyst will also support delivery activities, including user story development, acceptance criteria, process documentation, UAT planning, test scenario development, defect review, business validation, and implementation readiness. Assigned work, issues, dependencies, and deliverables will be tracked in JIRA or a similar project tracking tool.
  • As needed, this role may also provide guidance to junior analysts on requirements quality, documentation standards, and best business analysis practices.
Required Qualifications And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years' experience in the Property & Casualty industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Business Analyst experience.
  • Strong P&C insurance product knowledge.
  • Experience supporting policy administration, claims, billing, data, or reporting initiatives.
  • Ability to interpret P&C insurance documentation and translate it into business and system requirements.
  • Experience writing business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and process documentation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with business and technical teams.
  • Experience supporting testing, UAT, defect review, and implementation readiness.
Preferred Qualifications And Experience
  • Experience with insurance policy administration and claims systems.
  • Experience with INow (Guidewire), or similar insurance technology platforms.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
  • Experience supporting system implementations, product configuration, data/reporting initiatives, or operational process improvements.
  • Active or prior producer license preferred.
  • SQL, Jira, MS Office

Comp $120k - $145k based on experience, plus bonus
