Interpreter​/Translator

Translator Position

Must live locally (attendance is required to translate/interpret)

Applications are processed as needed. This is a per diem, independent contractor position. Hours worked are dependent on need of school district.

Duties:

• Provide word for word oral translation of state and district assessments
• Interpret for parent conferences, meetings and other school activities as needed
• Must physically be in attendance in order to interpret/translate.

Qualifications:

• Must complete NYS Education Department Fingerprinting clearance. (Please note that there is a fee for the fingerprinting if you have not been previously fingerprinted through the NYS Education Dept.)
• Must speak fluent English as well as read, speak and write fluently in language being translated.
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to establish a positive rapport with children and adults
• Punctual
• Reliable
