We are working with a law firm that is seeking an associate position for their prestigious appellate practice, renowned for successfully briefing and arguing appeals at all levels, including the U.S. Supreme Court, federal appellate courts, and state courts. This practice boasts an impressive roster of appellate talent, including former judicial clerks, appellate counsel, and law school faculty. This position can sit in the firm NY or DC office.

The role involves contributing to a busy docket of high-profile appeals, emphasizing key motions and issue preservation at the trial court level. The team seeks candidates who are committed to excellence and eager to work on significant cases in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft appellate briefs, motions, and other legal documents.
• Advocate in appellate courts and collaborate on trial-level motions to preserve issues for appeal.
• Work closely with a team on industry-changing and high-stakes appeals.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Outstanding academic credentials.
• Experience as a judicial clerk, ideally for a federal or state appellate court.
• Exceptional research, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach.
• Highly motivated and proactive in handling complex legal matters.
