Overview

Cohen & Cohen Personal Injury Lawyers, P.C. is seeking a motivated and ambitious Associate Attorney with 1–3 years of experience in personal injury or civil litigation. This is an opportunity to build elite plaintiff-side skills while working closely with a senior attorney and learning a proven, high-value litigation system. During your first 12–18 months, you will work side-by-side with a senior attorney, gradually building autonomy.

Upon successful development, you will “graduate” to managing your own pod of paralegals and a fuller caseload.

• Sky-high earning potential — base salary of $100,000–$120,000, with profit-sharing on every settlement in your caseload and 1/3 of the attorney’s fee on any case you bring in.
• Learn from the best — under the mentorship of Albert Cohen and through the Keenan Trial Institute method, you’ll master the system Don Keenan developed: focus-group tested, “Edge”-based strategies proven to produce extraordinary verdicts and settlements. The founder of the firm, Albert Cohen, will teach and guide you on how to maximize damages, including utilizing various experts such as life care planners, economists, and accident reconstructionists.
  
  You will be taught how to leverage these experts to maximize the outcome of the case.
• Trial-ready training — attend elite trial schools (Keenan, Don Keenan, others), learn courtroom fundamentals—EBTs, opening statements, cross-examination, jury selection, summations, and more, all supported with mock juries and expert feedback.
• Comprehensive resources — leverage a full support team with paralegals, legal assistants, and attorneys experienced in optimizing recovery through life-care planners, economists, accident reconstructionists, etc.

• Assist senior attorneys managing a full personal injury caseload from intake to resolution, including depositions, motions, trials, hearings, negotiations, and settlement closings. During the initial 12-18 months, your caseload will be intentionally lighter than our more senior attorneys to allow for skill development and quality oversight.
• Apply the Keenan “Edge” system: submit cases for expert agility review, focus group testing, and strategic refinement.
• Collaborate with experts and support staff to build compelling, high-value arguments for injury, accident, labor law, premises liability, etc.
• Provide exceptional client care with clear, regular communication.

• Juris Doctor and active NY State Bar admission.
• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience representing plaintiffs in substantial personal injury litigation.
• Coachable, growth-oriented mindset and an interest in developing as a trial attorney.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and tech-savviness; proficiency with case management systems and legal research tools.
• Exceptional communication—oral, written, and negotiation.
