Assistant General Counsel

Overview

Our client is a global biotechnology organization who is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join its Regulatory & Commercial Law team. This attorney will support the development and commercialization of a broad portfolio across multiple therapeutic areas and will serve as a strategic partner to cross-functional teams, including commercial, medical affairs, regulatory and corporate affairs, to name a few.

This position is hybrid on-site 4 days a week.

• Serve as day-to-day legal counsel to cross-functional teams supporting marketed therapies and pipeline assets, providing practical guidance on risk, strategy, and execution.
• Advise on regulatory and compliance considerations that impact external-facing activities, including product communications, clinical/scientific dissemination, and engagement with healthcare audiences.
• Partner closely with commercial and medical stakeholders to support planning cycles and key initiatives, offering solutions that align business goals with applicable legal frameworks.
• Provide legal support for commercialization activities, including go-to-market strategy, disease education initiatives, and coordinated internal review of materials and programs.
• Help maintain adherence to applicable laws and internal governance requirements across supported business areas, including policies, processes, and controls.
• Support disclosure and communications planning around clinical and scientific milestones, including public statements and scientific or medical events

• Coordinate with internal legal and compliance partners (e.g., IP, litigation, transactional support) to ensure consistent advice and timely escalation where needed.

• Juris Doctor (JD).
• 12+ years of relevant legal experience.
• Both in-house AND law firm experience in relevant sectors.
• Demonstrated experience with areas listed under Responsibilities.
